What is Spending goal campaign?

The Spend Goal campaign is primarily utilized to increase your Average Order Value (AOV).

The Spend Goal campaign is primarily utilized to increase your Average Order Value (AOV). AOV varies depending on industry, clientele, country, and other factors, so make sure you are aware of your store's AOV. Shopify reports it under the Analytics menu in the section. Keep the number in mind when creating your Goal campaign, and always set the goal slightly higher than your current AOV.

As part of the Boost Upsell mini app. Its goal is to increase your average order value through gamification. It can gamify the visitors' purchase experience by setting quests or missions, amplified through eye-candy graphics and catchy, customizable texts. When your gamification strategy works, you’ll trigger powerful human emotions like excitement, curiosity, and intrigue. These emotions drive people to buy more, interact more, and remember your brand. You’ll have:

  • Better engagement

  • Increased loyalty

  • Higher sales

Here's how to set up a Spending goal offer.

Similarly to the three sections of Boost Upsell, Buy X Get Y, and Volume Discount, Spending goal also has 3 ways to access to create a campaign.

  • First of all, if you are a first-time user, you will see the All app section right on our Discover page.

  • You can access the "Explore all app" section in the top right corner of the Discover page.

  • If you have already used Spending goal, the feature will be displayed in the "My app" section.

For more details, you can refer to .

Step 1: Set the goals

The first thing you need to do is set a spending goal for your store. Customers who spend enough money will receive a discount on their entire bill

Have in mind the Average Order Value of your store before starting the setup.

Step 2: Select products that customers will consume

The second step of the campaign configuration is to select the eligible products, the products that the visitor needs to add to the cart, to achieve the spending goal. Here, we reinforce the suggestion to keep it simple.

For the customers to easily understand, we recommend using ANY PRODUCT selection.

Although technically possible, as All star Boost Upsell does provide the capability to create multiple campaigns simultaneously, it is best to keep only one Goal campaign active at any given time. This is to ensure the best User Experience by keeping the Goal's simple concept... simple.

Step 3: Discount value

Discount type (Percent or Fixed Amount): This main discount option will determine how much discount you would like this Product Bundle to have.

  • Percent (default): Any value that you place here from 0 to 99% will have that equivalent discount amount off the whole bundle

  • Fixed Amount: This alternative discount option will let you provide how much (in your store currency) exact discount you would like your Product Bundle to have when purchased, instead of being percentage based.

This discount will apply to the entire customer's bill if they meet the spending goal

Step 4: Display

  1. Configure the position and the pages where you want to display the widget.

You can choose where to display this widget.

  • We have options for both devices: mobile and desktop.

  • Display on pages: Home page, Collection page, Product page, Cart page

To achieve the highest conversion rate, we recommend displaying on all pages and all devices

  1. Process bar appearance

Here you can choose the icon to be displayed in the widget.

In addition, you can change the colour of the widget to match your store concept.

Step 5: Review

Review your chosen settings and activate/publish the upsell offer:

In this final step, you can see an overview of the chosen options from the previous step, and also set the following features:

  • Offer Status (Draft or Active) - You can choose Active if you would like this upsell offer to be activated right away once you save your changes. Otherwise, you can choose Draft.

  • Offer Name - You can also define an internal name for this Product Bundle upsell offer for easier management of offers inside the Boost Upsell mini app.

  • Time period: You can set a time to automatically stop running a campaign. The start date is always the date the campaign is created. You can enable and adjust the end date of the campaign.
